SEVIS I-901 Fee: How to request information correction
Every F-1 student visa applicant is required to pay the SEVIS fee (Form I-901) online or by mail before going for an interview. If you happen to make a mistake filling out your information when paying the fee, it is important to have it corrected as soon as possible, preferably before the interview. Send an email to FMJFee.SEVIS@ice.dhs.gov with the following info:
SEVIS ID: [on the top left of I-20 starting with N]
Correction Request: [Provide what was wrong –> Provide the correct info]
Don’t attempt to pay it again! You might not get the fee back, or it may take a long time. If you are having the interview the next day, it is sufficient to just bring the receipt with the wrong information and a copy of your email requesting correction.
