Any documents that will convince USCIS that your marriage is bona fide (genuine and in good faith). It is the burden of both the petitioner and beneficiary to show evidence of (1) cohabitation, (2) raising children together, (3) commingling of finances; (4) intimacy. Note: “Both” refers to the petitioner and beneficiary(ies)

Examples are:
* Marriage certificate of the petitioner and beneficiary (Filed for Spouse)
* Birth/Adoption certificate of with the petitioner’s name as father or mother. (Filed with Children)
* Driver’s Licenses of both showing the same address.
* Paystubs of both showing the same address.
* Shared bills with both names e.g. mobile/landline, water, electricity, gas, etc. Or different bills showing the same address.
* Tax return showing both names joint-filed as married.
* A joint bank account of both names listed in the statement.
* A joint credit card account of both names listed in the statement.
* An apartment lease with both names as co-signers.
* A Car/Home/Other loan with both names as co-signers.
* Health/Life/Car insurance with both names on the same plan, or same address if on different plans.
* Documents designated each other as the primary beneficiary of benefits e.g. life insurance, will, trust, etc.
* Receipts for gifts purchased for each other.
* Phone/Text/Email records showing both communicate on regular/constant basis.
* Social media showing both spending life together.
* Photos/Receipts/Tickets/Plans of activities both taken together. e.g. trips to meet each other’s in-laws, honeymoon trip, road trip, trip aboard, sport events, social events, parties, etc.
* Photos/Receipts for gifts purchased for each other.
* Affidavits/Photos of people aware of the marriage and/or living together.
* Congratulations cards from family, friends, and other guests for the wedding.

NON-SPOUSE of Petitioner

If the beneficiary is a parent of the petitioner, use Petitioner’s Birth Certificate with the beneficiary listed as the biological parent.

CURRENT STATUS

B1/B2 Visitor

Your e-ticket/itinerary confirmation with return trip information. Your full name and return date must be clearly printed in the document.

Download Timeline file and fill out places you have traveled with proof (photo, ticket, receipt, etc) since entry to the U.S.

F1 Student/F2 Dependent

Form I-20 issued by your current school for you and all dependents

Form I-20 issued by the first school you applied for school, whether it be from your home country or through prior Change of Status, for you and all dependents

J1 AuPair / Work & Travel

Form DS-2019 issued by your Au Pair or Work & Travel organization.

Letter of Employment stating that you are still being employed.

Copies of 3 most recent check stubs.

DEPENDENTS

To show proof of fund, you or your sponsor can choose to submit ONE:
a) download the most recent Bank Statement
b) request from your bank an Account Verification Letter

The document must adhere to the following:
1) can be issued from U.S. or non-U.S. banks;
2) must be issued within 60 days of the issuance date of I-20;
3) have currency clearly specified, if from non-US banks;
4) include the issuer’s name, position, signature as well as bank stamp.
5) must be greater than the minimum fund requirements (subject to change by the school):

– $13,080 per 3 sessions
– Add $2,700 per 3 sessions per dependent

If you are financially sponsored, your sponsor will need to sign an Affidavit of Support. Depending on the residence country, your sponsor will fill out, ink-sign and date. Choose to download ONE:
a) Affidavit of Support Letter if the sponsor resides OUTSIDE the U.S.
b) I-134 Form if the sponsor resides WITHIN the U.S.

Download Transfer Eligibility Form for Chicago Campus, Skokie Campus, Lombard Campus, and fill out your information in Part A and sign the form.

To show proof of fund, you or your sponsor can choose to submit ONE:
a) download the most recent Bank Statement
b) request from your bank an Account Verification Letter

The document must adhere to the following:
1) can be issued from U.S. or non-U.S. banks;
2) must be issued within 45 days of the issuance date of I-20;
3) have currency clearly specified, if from non-US banks;
4) include the issuer’s name, position, signature as well as bank stamp.
5) must be greater than the minimum fund requirements (subject to change by the school):

– $13,800 for a Business Career program (Only $12,760 for Digital Multimedia)
– $13,200 for Customer Service Specialist
– $15,400 for Healthcare Career Program
– $14,360 for Networking Career Program
– $10.920 for ESL (Beg./Int./Adv.)
– $11,520 for ESL (Communication)
– Add $3,000 per dependent

3) Documents must have a signature, official seal, or be on letterhead from an official agency
4) Documents must state account type and account balance and accounts must be accessible liquid funds.
5) Statement must include the account holder’s name, date, account type, account balance and currency type.
6) must be greater than the minimum fund requirements (subject to change by the school):

– $24,600 for all programs
– Add $5,500 per dependent

Download Affidavit of Financial Support Form and fill out the information about you and your sponsor. Use your information if you are self-sponsored.

Download Application Form and fill out your information completely. If you are financially sponsored, you must provide your sponsor information in the Evidence of Financial Support section.

Download Foreign Address Certificating Form and fill out your home address. Make sure to include all required information.

Download High School Attestation Form and fill out your information about your prior education. You may choose to fill out only the highest-level education.
